About: Kevin Wakelam
Welcome to my website, I have been a keen photographer for over forty years, my father first got me interested at the age of seven and photography has been with me ever since.
My fathers collection of cameras was extensive and he let me loose on an old Halina 35mm whilst I was still at school.
As I grew my interests changed somewhat, I grew up in the seventies when the world was in turmoil both morally and techically.
My first serious camera was a Nikon FM3A which lasted me for years.
I got married then divorced, photography was put on the back burner for a while them came the digital age, I started with a bridge camera, it was a Fujifilm S9500 which took some great shots, especially macro.
A windfall brought me my first Nikon digital camera a D5000 and the world was my oyster, well locally anyway.
I have since progressed first to D5100, then a D7000 a D7100 which I still use, A D600 which I quickly got rid of for the fantastic D810 which in my opinion is the ultimate in my price range anyway.
